What you will do

• Develop and maintain the distributed aspects of the native graph database to ensure consistent replication across systems.
• Work across the stack from low-level systems programming (concurrency, networking, storage) to high-level distributed control planes.
• Architect for quality and correctness to handle failing servers, unstable networks, and query overloads.
• Collaborate with support engineers and SREs to track down complex bugs and support database-as-a-service offerings.
• Partner with product managers to design and implement new features for high-demand enterprise use cases.

Requirements

• Experience with the development, administration, or usage of distributed systems.
• Proficiency in or a strong interest in modern, high-performance, concurrent Java programming.
• Ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly.
• Ability to work independently within a flexible software development organization.
• Must be based in or able to work from Malmö, Sweden (Hybrid)

Nice to have

• Experience building stateful distributed systems such as databases, message brokers, or stream processing systems.
• Deep knowledge of Java programming, the Java ecosystem, or JVM internals.
• Experience working with orchestration systems like Kubernetes.
• Experience managing and contributing to large codebases.
