Backend Engineer (Java, Scala, Spark)

Location: Malmö, Sweden. Hybrid work with three days per week onsite in Southern Sweden for the first 3–4 months, followed by relocation to Sweden and three days per week from the office. Travel and accommodation are covered during the initial onsite period.

Salary: 1,000–1,500 PLN/day on a B2B contract. Mid-level rate: up to 1,120 PLN/day; senior-level rate: up to 1,500 PLN/day.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems and services.
• Build and optimize data processing pipelines with Apache Spark.
• Develop APIs and backend components for developer-facing platforms.
• Translate business and technical requirements into robust, high-quality code.
• Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, testing, and CI/CD processes.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and data teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.

Requirements

• Senior-level backend engineering experience.
• Professional experience with Java and Scala.
• Experience with Apache Spark, distributed systems, and large-scale data processing.
• Knowledge of API design and backend architecture.
• Ability to work onsite in Southern Sweden three days per week and relocate to Sweden after the initial period.
• Readiness to work under a B2B contract.
