TL;DR
Chief Financial Officer: Lead financial strategy, governance, operational effectiveness, and enterprise performance for the world’s largest wish-granting nonprofit with an accent on planning, budgeting, accounting, investment management, risk mitigation, and shared financial services across national office and chapters. Focus on driving process improvements, change management initiatives, board-level financial guidance, and strategic alignment.
Location: Remote, open to applicants based anywhere in the continental U.S.; must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship)
Salary: $260,000 - $300,000 USD

What you will do
- Lead financial strategy, planning, budgeting, forecasting, and investment management.
- Oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, treasury, governance, compliance, audits, and risk management.
- Provide financial leadership to Board committees and ensure alignment across chapter network.
- Direct shared financial services, including chapter accounting, donor care, and Form 990 preparation.
- Drive enterprise process improvements, change management, and implementation of systems like NetSuite.
- Partner on enterprise strategic plan, facilities oversight, and senior leadership contributions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent required; MBA and CPA preferred
- Minimum 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience
- Demonstrated experience with Board committees in nonprofit or corporate environments.
- Proven success leading distributed shared services models and remote/hybrid teams.
- Extensive experience in financial reporting, budgeting, audits, nonprofit compliance, and investments.
- Excellent communication, analytical skills; ability to travel as needed.
