What you will do

• Build a healthy, accountable team environment where engineers feel supported, challenged, and motivated.
• Partner with Product and Design to clarify ambiguous problems, align on priorities, and create iterative plans.
• Drive ownership, delivery, and technical quality by guiding decisions, addressing root causes, and ensuring outcomes.
• Coach and grow senior and staff-level engineers through empathy, direct feedback, and development commitment.
• Contribute technically as needed, assess system-wide impacts, and create reliable customer experiences.
• Lead adoption of AI practices to boost delivery speed and decision quality.

Requirements

• Experience leading engineering teams as an established manager, ready to contribute from day one.
• Strong people leadership including hiring, coaching, performance management, and senior engineer growth.
• Solid technical foundation to partner with developers, evaluate tradeoffs, and advocate for quality.
• Cross-functional experience with Product and Design, balancing tech investments and roadmaps through ambiguity.
• Track record delivering complex software in interconnected domains with strong judgment on depth and delegation.
• Experience coaching teams on AI usage, prompting, critique, and patterns for consistency.
