What you will do
- Drive conversations on technical issues and engineering practices across the department, suggesting improvements.
- Ensure architectural consistency and high-quality software by establishing patterns and best practices.
- Coordinate with engineering and product leads to define, prioritize, and task projects meeting business objectives.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, pairing, and code reviews to grow team members.
- Cultivate an empowering environment with ownership and belonging.
- Collaborate on engineering vision, solve problems with cross-functional teams, mentor engineers, and advise on key initiatives.
Requirements
- 9+ years in Software Engineering or related field (or equivalent education + experience) with production software in languages like C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python.
- 3+ years people management experience.
- Excellent written communication skills for asynchronous, distributed global teams.
Nice to have
- Experience managing data strategy, scalable data pipelines, integrations, and data models.
- Cross-functional collaboration with product, design, and engineering teams.
- Scripting languages like Bash or Python.
- Cloud environments, CNCF concepts, relational/non-relational datastores (MySQL, Cosmos DB), Azure services.
