TL;DR
Senior Electrical Engineer (Drones): Design, build, and validate robust eVTOL drones for next-generation short- and medium-range reconnaissance with an accent on RF front ends, regulated power trees, BMS, and embedded motor control. Focus on schematics, PCB layout, firmware development, PI analysis, and executing test campaigns for DVT/EMI/EMC/ESD/thermal compliance.
Location: Onsite in Torrance, CA. U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency required (ITAR/EAR restrictions, no sponsorship). Background check required.
Compensation: $132k β $180k, plus equity and bonuses.

What you will do
- Own schematics, layout, bring-up, and verification of electrical projects.
- Design, simulate, and debug RF front ends including radios, filters, LNAs/PAs, antennas, and matching networks.
- Architect power trees, perform PI analysis, and implement BLDC/PMSM motor control on MCUs.
- Develop embedded C/C++ firmware for real-time control, drivers, and diagnostics.
- Drive PCB layout considering SI/PI/RF constraints and plan test campaigns using lab equipment.
- Design and validate BMS including cell balancing, protection, SoC/SoH estimation, and thermal management.
- Write documentation and collaborate with mechanical, firmware, and manufacturing teams.
Requirements
- BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 5-7+ years professional experience in device-oriented electrical engineering.
- Solid foundation in RF, BMS, PCB layout, power/PI, embedded systems, mixed-signal, or motor control.
- Comfortable with test equipment: multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, VNAs.
- Proficiency in Altium, MATLAB/Python, or SPICE/EM/PI tools.
- Ability to own features end-to-end; physical ability to lift 25lbs and work in lab/manufacturing environments.

- RF: Antenna design, MIMO, regulatory compliance.
- Power/PI: Buck/boost, thermal design, EMI fixes.
- Layout: High-speed SerDes, HDI, DFM/DFT.
- Embedded: RTOS, motor-control libraries.
