TL;DR
Staff Electrical Engineer (Aerospace/Defense): Leading the design and integration of high-reliability digital electronics for aerospace and military applications with an accent on digital circuit design and signal integrity analysis. What you will do
- Lead the design of high-speed digital circuit cards and subsystems following aerospace and military standards.
- Design PCBAs featuring FPGAs, processors, memory devices, and high-speed serial interfaces.
- Conduct signal integrity and power integrity analysis for high-speed interfaces and power distribution networks.
- Define critical PCB layout constraints, including controlled impedance, grounding, and shielding.
- Collaborate with FPGA, embedded software, RF, and mechanical teams to ensure seamless hardware integration.
- Support the full lifecycle from board bring-up and troubleshooting to qualification testing and production.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience.
- Deep expertise in high-speed digital hardware, including timing, clocking, and return-path management.
- Hands-on experience with FPGAs, high-speed data converters, and board-level communication.
- Proficiency with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and signal measurement tools.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
Nice to have
- Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience with Avionics platforms and Altium Designer.
- Familiarity with EMI/EMC mitigation and standards (RTCA/DO-160, MIL-STD-461, etc.).
- Experience with high-speed interfaces like DDR, PCIe, Ethernet, JESD204, or SERDES.
- Proven track record of designing for manufacturability and production transition.
