Location: Onsite at hirify.global (Vancouver, Canada)

Salary: $7,622.83 - $11,886.67 CAD Monthly

What you will do

  • Develop, implement, and maintain university-wide emergency preparedness, resilience, and continuity planning systems.
  • Lead the planning and administration of emergency exercises, including design, logistics, and post-exercise reporting.
  • Create hazard-specific Emergency Response Plan (ERP) Annexes and supporting documentation.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs to enhance organizational resilience.
  • Ensure institutional compliance with the BC Emergency Program Act, Public Safety Canada standards, and industry best practices.
  • Supervise the Emergency Management Associate and coordinate with various campus operational departments.

Requirements

  • Must be located in or able to work onsite in Vancouver, Canada.
  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in emergency management, continuity planning, or a related specialization.
  • Advanced understanding of emergency management principles and experience with government or academic organizations.
  • Knowledge of federal, provincial, and municipal legislation, specifically the BC Emergency Program Act.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment, such as a hard hat or respirator, as required.

Nice to have

  • Certification in emergency planning, business continuity, or enterprise risk management.
  • Experience in consulting or in-house emergency planning for municipal or corporate settings.
  • Project management and personnel management experience.
  • Familiarity with public first response agencies and University policies.
