What you will do
- Lead architecture and engineering for high-scale, data-intensive B2B systems supporting billing, eligibility, and marketing.
- Design and implement reliable, observable batch and real-time processing architectures.
- Drive database performance optimization and schema design for multi-terabyte PostgreSQL stores.
- Collaborate with product, infrastructure, and operations teams to deliver resilient, maintainable systems.
- Mentor and coach engineers across all levels and contribute to the engineering community through design reviews.
- Utilize and advocate for AI-assisted development tools like Cursor and Claude to enhance productivity.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience focusing on scalable systems architecture and performance optimization.
- Proven success in re-architecting complex legacy platforms into modern solutions.
- Strong programming experience with Ruby (Rails) and Python (Django).
- Deep understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL), performance tuning, and data modeling.
- Hands-on experience with batch and streaming data pipelines (SQS, Kafka, Kinesis, Airflow).
- Must be based in the USA.
Nice to have
- Fluency in CI/CD, containerization, and infrastructure-as-code (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform).
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability frameworks such as Datadog and OpenTelemetry.
