What you will do

• Lead and develop a high-performing team of engineers building core AI enablement capabilities such as reusable APIs, orchestration patterns, and evaluation systems.
• Coach and mentor a senior engineering team, including Lead and Principal AI Engineers, fostering a culture of accountability and technical excellence.
• Define the strategy, roadmap, and performance expectations for the AI Enablement Platform in alignment with business priorities.
• Manage the platform as a product, prioritizing usability, documentation, and internal developer experience (DX).
• Establish shared standards for building, testing, monitoring, and operating AI systems in production.
• Partner with senior technical leaders, SRE, and Product teams to align platform investments with infrastructure and operational needs.

Requirements

• 10+ years of engineering experience, specifically within backend, platform, or distributed systems environments.
• 2+ years of people leadership experience with a track record of developing talent across multiple seniority levels.
• Experience leading platform or internal tooling teams that deliver reusable capabilities at scale.
• Deep understanding of service architecture, APIs, platform reliability, and operational excellence.
• Demonstrated ability to define technical strategy and execution plans aligned with organizational goals.
• Strong cross-functional leadership skills to influence Product, SRE, and other engineering stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI or LLM-enabled systems, including observability tooling and evaluation frameworks.
• Background in building internal developer platforms or SDKs.
• Experience supporting globally distributed engineering organizations.
• Familiarity with the challenges of moving AI from experimentation to production-grade systems.
