TL;DR

Manager, Programming (Events): Curation and execution of speaker-driven programming for AfroTech and other hirify.global live events with an accent on agenda development and speaker logistics. Focus on managing the call for proposals (CFP), coordinating session tracks, and ensuring content quality across virtual and live summits.

Location: Fully remote, must be based in the US and authorized to work in the US

Salary: $45 per hour (Approximately 20 hours per week)

What you will do

• Draft program agendas and organize session tracks based on strategic priorities and leadership goals.
• Manage the call for proposals (CFP) process, including tracking submissions and communicating outcomes.
• Coordinate speaker communications, rehearsals, and the collection of assets like bios and decks.
• Independently own the full project lifecycle for one-day events and virtual summits.
• Provide on-site support for talent management and real-time session adjustments.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in conference programming.
• Hands-on experience managing speaker-driven event content and session logistics for large-scale events.
• Proficiency in Google Suite (especially Sheets) and Asana.
• Must be based in the US and have valid US work authorization.
• Genuine connection to Black culture, tech, and the AfroTech community.

Nice to have

• Experience with event management software such as Sessionboard.
