TL;DR
Actuarial Analyst I (Reinsurance): Support the Singapore reinsurance reserving team in preparing detailed reserve adequacy studies for APAC business with an accent on quarterly closing tasks, IFRS 17 calculations, and statutory reporting. Focus on developing new reserving methodologies, participating in group-wide projects, and collaborating with underwriting, finance, claims, and pricing teams.

What you will do
- Prepare detailed reserve adequacy studies for business underwritten across APAC, with potential support for other international locations like UK, Ireland, Middle East & Africa, Latin America & Brazil.
- Assist in quarterly closing tasks including validation of plan ELR amounts, actuarial versus expected analysis, and roll forward analysis.
- Support IFRS 17 best estimate liability annual calculations and local statutory reporting.
- Explore and develop new reserving approaches and methodologies.
- Participate in group-wide projects to improve reserving processes.
- Collaborate with Pricing Actuarial, Underwriting, Claims, and Financial Services teams, ensuring timely delivery and communication of results.
Requirements
- Student Actuary of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (FIA) or similar.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Maths, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, Business or similar field.
- Recent graduate with preferably some initial P&C actuarial experience.
- Knowledge and experience of GI reserving and reinsurance is an advantage.
- Strong Excel skills (mandatory); VBA, SQL, Python a plus.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, communication, and ability to work in team and independently.
