Senior Process Engineer (Optics)

What you will do

• Define and optimize mechanical inspection process parameters, tooling, fixturing, and control strategies for consistent output across shifts.
• Establish process windows, capability targets, and long-term monitoring using statistical tools to ensure stability and repeatability.
• Lead introduction and qualification of new fixtures, tools, software, and machine upgrades, converting data into actionable decisions.
• Perform structured RCA, verify corrective actions, and drive 6P readiness for process, material, or equipment changes.
• Proactively evaluate and integrate advanced inspection methods and technologies to improve stability, predictability, and throughput.
• Collaborate with production, quality, equipment engineering, and maintenance teams to balance daily needs with improvement projects.

Requirements

• BS/MS/PhD in Mechanical, Optical, Materials, or related engineering field
• Minimum 5+ years in optical fabrication and visual/mechanical inspection
• Experience in tooling mechanics, process development, structured problem solving, data analysis, and RCA
• Proficiency with JMP, Minitab or equivalent; manual/automated inspection tools
• Strong communication, leadership, and ability to manage priorities in production environment
• Willingness to work in cleanroom with PPE; physical requirements including lifting up to 35 lbs
