Senior Process Engineer (Optical Inspection)

Location: Wilton, Connecticut, United States. The role includes regular work on the fabrication floor and in a clean room environment.

What you will do

• Own the development, stabilization, and daily performance of automated and manual mechanical inspection processes.
• Define process parameters, process windows, capability targets, inspection controls, and long-term monitoring systems.
• Lead the introduction and qualification of fixtures, tooling, software, manual processes, and machine upgrades.
• Analyze inspection data to identify variation, drift, chronic stability risks, and opportunities to improve FPY, yield, and quality.
• Lead structured root cause analysis and verify that corrective actions are embedded and sustainable.
• Collaborate with production, quality, equipment engineering, maintenance, technicians, supervisors, and cross-factory teams.

Requirements

• BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical, Optical, Materials, or a related engineering field.
• At least 5 years of experience in optical fabrication and visual inspection.
• Experience with tooling mechanics, mechanical inspection methods, process development, and automated or manual inspection tools.
• Experience with JMP, Minitab, or equivalent statistical software, plus structured problem solving and data analysis.
• Demonstrated capability in 6P readiness, root cause analysis, process improvement, and verification-driven corrective action.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship and be eligible to access controlled U.S. technology.
