Process Support Engineer (SEM)

Location: Boise, ID (on-site); travel required 25% of the time; relocation eligible.

Salary: $86,500–$119,000 per year.

What you will do

• Guide semiconductor products through the lifecycle from initial concept to final qualification.
• Act as the liaison between customers and the business unit, clarifying customer issues and delivering applicable solutions.
• Install, diagnose, troubleshoot, service, repair, and approve the operational quality of complex semiconductor equipment on customer sites.
• Optimize tool performance to meet customer process and integration requirements and instruct customers in system operation and maintenance.
• Develop hypothesis experiments and design-of-experiments studies, analyze process and tool data, identify trends, and support technical decision-making.
• Prepare reports and presentations communicating findings, progress, recommendations, and technical updates to customers and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in semiconductor capital equipment or a similar high-tech industry.
• Knowledge of at least 3 processes across at least 1 semiconductor technology, including Chemical Vapor Deposition, Atomic Layer Deposition, Plasma Reactive Ion Etch, Physical Vapor Deposition, Anneal, or Implant.
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field.
• Ability to analyze process and tool data, troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and resolve complex process engineering and customer product problems.
• Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to work on-site and travel 25% of the time.

Nice to have

• 3 or more years of experience in Applications or Process Engineering.
• Experience using semiconductor real-time defect analysis tools and relevant analytical or metrology tools.
