Principal Optical Process Engineer (Photolithography)

Location: On-site at hirify.global's facility in San Jose, California, USA, during business hours.

Salary: $134,750.00–$192,500.00 annual base salary.

What you will do

• Lead the development, optimization, and implementation of photolithography processes for advanced semiconductor manufacturing nodes.
• Maintain optical holographic systems integrating lasers, optics, and hardware components.
• Develop and refine coherent optical systems, including interferometry setups and laser-based architectures.
• Partner with Design, Integration, and Equipment Engineering teams on new product and tool qualifications.
• Perform statistical data analysis and apply Six Sigma methods, including FMEA, capability analysis, SPC, DOE, and Design for Manufacturing.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to meet fab yield targets, improve yield, reduce costs, minimize defects and variation, and shorten cycle time.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related discipline.
• Programming experience in Python, VBA macros, LabVIEW, and C++.
• Familiarity with optical inspection equipment, photolithography tools, and cleanroom protocols.
• Proficiency with statistical tools such as DOE and SPC and data analysis software such as JMP and Minitab.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across multiple disciplines and with senior management.
• On-site presence at hirify.global's facility during business hours is required.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience configuring optical benches, assembling optical components, and performing routine maintenance.
• Photolithography wafer patterning experience using the Through Displacement Talbot lithography method.
