Employment Specialist

TL;DR

Employment Specialist (Human Services): Guiding newly arrived refugees toward financial self-sufficiency through job readiness training and placement support with an accent on case management and employer relationship cultivation. Location: Onsite in Sacramento, CA, USA

Salary: $26 - $27 per hour

What you will do

• Provide comprehensive intake, assessments, and job readiness classes to refugee clients.
• Conduct one-on-one and group coaching on resumes, interviews, and workplace orientation.
• Develop and execute individualized employment plans for adult clients.
• Cultivate and maintain long-term relationships with local employers to identify job opportunities.
• Manage case records, database entries, and compliance reporting.
• Supervise and assist program interns and volunteers.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in Social Work or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of two years of relevant work experience in the human services field.
• Fluent English proficiency, both spoken and written.
• Must possess a valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and insurance for regular travel in the service area.
• Demonstrated experience with the US job search process and client coaching.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and online databases.

Nice to have

• Bilingual ability in Spanish, Dari/Farsi, or Pashto.
• Supervisory or mentoring experience.
• Familiarity with the Sacramento job market.
