Recovery Care Coordinator

TL;DR

Recovery Care Coordinator: Non-clinical case management for wounded, ill, or injured service members (RSM) via the Comprehensive Recovery Plan (CRP) with an accent on coordinating care, benefits, and family support across DoD systems. Focus on conducting needs assessments, liaising with unit leadership, minimizing treatment gaps, and ensuring holistic recovery through innovative problem-solving and stakeholder collaboration.

Location: National Capital Region (full-time onsite with heavy travel within 40-50 mile radius, including multiple hospitals). Proof of U.S. citizenship required. Top Secret with SCI eligibility required (TS/SCI highly preferred).

What you will do

• Conduct initial needs assessments and develop/maintain Comprehensive Recovery Plans (CRP).
• Brief unit leadership on CRP status, act as liaison, and recommend courses of action for RSM.
• Collaborate with recovery teams, families, and caregivers to execute CRP and address needs.
• Provide benefits information, educate on military medical systems, and research solutions to client issues.
• Minimize delays in care, update CRP, coordinate transfers, and close cases per policy.
• Document in WCP Database, conduct briefings, report to leadership, and build rapport with stakeholders.
• Transport RSM as approved and perform administrative support.

Requirements

• Related experience working with military personnel and people with disabilities.
• U.S. citizenship (proof may be required).
• Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility (TS/SCI highly preferred).
• Clear understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, time management, and communication skills.
• Able to work in ambiguous environments with minimal supervision.

Nice to have

• Military experience (senior-level SOF or Medical NCO) and familiarity with DoD/VA systems.
• Bachelor's Degree.
• Extensive knowledge of service members or case management.
