TL;DR
Automation Designer (Manufacturing): Designing, developing, building and implementing new products, components, or technologies for Fleet Products including Command for Hauling, Dozing, Drills, ADS, Safety with an accent on autonomy and automation technologies. Focus on researching materials, prototyping, testing, supplier development, and translating functional requirements into detailed designs.
Location: Must work onsite at the Laval, QC office (Canada), up to 10% travel (domestic/international). No relocation assistance or Canada work authorization sponsorship offered.
Salary: $83,130 - $103,920

What you will do
- Research new materials and competitive products, organize prototype building, testing, and analysis.
- Assist supply specialists with supplier development and performance, oversee drafting and testing specialists.
- Develop and document functional requirements, translate into detailed design documents, participate in buy-build analysis.
- Support proposal preparation, cost estimates, and technical reports.
- Handle other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent technical degree.
- Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving problems.
- Application Development Tools: Knowledge of tools and toolkits for developing applications.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on hardware, software, or operations.
- Work onsite five days a week in Laval, QC (Canada).
Nice to have
- Experience with CREO – cabling/harness tool, electrical harness routing, drawing creation.
- Experience with CREO – sheet metal, solid modeling, contouring, fabrication drawings.
- Experience with Teamcenter Vis Mockup or Workflow.
- Experience with electrical schematics and Creo Schematics or equivalent.
- Familiarity with products.
