Location: Barcelona, Spain (Must live within a 25-mile commute of the office for a hybrid 4-day-per-week onsite requirement)

What you will do

• Build and operate production services for data ingestion, validation, and transformation using Azure containerized and serverless services.
• Design and maintain data lake infrastructure utilizing Databricks, Azure Synapse, and Spark to ensure availability and correctness of large datasets.
• Monitor live data services via telemetry and alerts, and participate in incident response and on-call rotations.
• Partner with applied scientists and product managers to deliver production-ready services for analytics and AI feature development.
• Implement and manage security, privacy, and compliance standards across all data pipelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in writing code in Python and SQL.
• Experience building production data pipelines using distributed processing platforms like Apache Spark, Databricks, or Azure Synapse.
• Experience with large-scale data storage and data lake architectures.
• Familiarity with Azure cloud platforms and service engineering practices (containerized workloads, orchestration, and system health monitoring).
• Must be based in Barcelona, Spain to meet the required onsite attendance.

Nice to have

• Experience with streaming data ingestion systems such as Kafka or Azure Event Hubs.
• Experience working with large-scale consumer data in production environments.
• Knowledge of data governance, compliance, and security practices in production systems.
