Team Lead Backend (Node.js) (iGaming)

Location: On-site in Valencia, Spain (Relocation support and visa sponsorship provided)

Salary: from 6 000 €/month net

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, and manage backend engineers through regular 1:1 sessions and performance evaluations.
• Actively write, review, and refactor code to improve system functionality and stability.
• Design technical solutions and make key architectural decisions for system enhancements.
• Optimize architecture and resolve technical debt to ensure high system quality.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (Scrum/Kanban) to ensure team alignment.
• Collaborate with Engineering Managers to drive company-wide engineering initiatives.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in or relocate to Valencia, Spain
• English: Upper-intermediate or advanced level
• 8+ years of professional backend development experience.
• 3+ years of experience in leadership positions.
• Strong expertise in Node.js, Kubernetes, and SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or higher degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience with CI/CD, microservices, and cloud-based development.
• Knowledge of test-driven development (TDD).
