What you will do

• Design and optimize machine learning models supporting credit risk decisioning and portfolio management.
• Own the full development lifecycle, including data exploration, prototyping, deployment, and monitoring.
• Integrate new structured and unstructured data sources into credit models to improve accuracy.
• Develop backtesting and validation frameworks to evaluate model performance and business impact.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to define the applied science roadmap.
• Communicate data-driven insights to influence overall company strategy.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a quantitative field (Math, Economics, CS, Statistics, etc.).
• 5+ years of industry experience as an Applied Scientist or MLE (or 3+ years with a PhD).
• Strong proficiency in Python (NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, PyTorch) and SQL.
• Proven track record of shipping high-quality ML products in production at scale.
• Must be based in or able to relocate to New York, NY for a hybrid work setup.

Nice to have

• PhD in a quantitative field.
• Experience with data orchestration platforms such as Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect.
• Experience working in high-growth startup environments.
• Experience leveraging AI/LLMs for internal workflows or development.
