TL;DR
Director, Trade Contracting (Biotech): Leading the strategy, development, negotiation, and governance of trade contracts across commercial distribution ecosystem with an accent on 3PL providers, specialty distributors, and specialty pharmacies. Focus on establishing compliant, efficient trade infrastructure for launch readiness and ongoing commercialization.
Location: Hybrid in New York City office or remote in the East Coast. Must have employment rights in the US; no visa sponsorship.
Salary: $220,000 - $275,000 USD

What you will do
- Lead end-to-end trade contracting strategy across 3PLs, specialty distributors, and specialty pharmacies.
- Develop, negotiate, and manage commercial, operational, and service level agreements aligned with launch and commercialization goals.
- Own trade contract governance including terms interpretation, renewals, amendments, performance monitoring, and issue resolution.
- Partner with Legal, Compliance, Finance, Market Access, Commercial Operations, and Supply Chain for alignment.
- Lead RFP processes for trade partners and implement risk mitigation strategies.
- Monitor industry trends and provide mentorship on trade contracting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- Minimum 8 years in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry with direct trade or distribution contracting experience.
- Demonstrated experience negotiating contracts with 3PLs, specialty distributors, and/or specialty pharmacies.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical distribution models, trade economics, and service-level frameworks.
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders, solid financial acumen, excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Experience in pre-launch or early commercialization, limited or specialty distribution models, preferably in small/mid-size biotech.
