What you will do

• Select and classify risks according to company standards to maintain profitable mortality experience.
• Analyze medical, non-medical, and financial information to make decisions up to $10,000,000 and age 79.
• Determine requirements, communicate with field and home office, and manage retention.
• Review referrals, participate in projects, and assist in updating underwriting practices.
• Train less experienced underwriters and maintain relationships with internal and external partners.

Requirements

• Minimum 6-8 years underwriting experience
• College degree or equivalent experience; FLMI, ALU, ACS designations or coursework
• Highly developed knowledge of underwriting, medical science, financial factors, reinsurance, and insurance products
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of insurance contract law, state requirements, and product pricing
• Ability to work under deadlines in a team environment
