What you will do
- Design, develop, and maintain platform infrastructure for a hybrid-first Lakehouse architecture.
- Lead the development of PoCs and the implementation of new virtualization features.
- Drive virtualization best practices and optimize network hardware/software for seamless integration.
- Perform root cause analysis of customer-reported issues and contribute to technical product documentation.
- Collaborate with DevOps to build automation tools and continuously improve test strategies.
- Evaluate and maintain information security throughout the virtualized infrastructure.
Requirements
- Must be based in or able to work hybrid in San Diego, CA, USA.
- Bachelor's degree with 10+ years experience, Master's with 7+ years, or PhD with 3+ years in Computer Science or related field.
- Expert knowledge of hypervisors, KVM, Harvester, and the VMware suite (vSphere, vSan, vMotion, vCenter, vRa).
- Strong proficiency in L2 and L3 network protocols and network virtualization.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and scripting languages such as Python, Go, or PowerShell.
- VMware Certified Advanced Professional certification.
