What you will do
- Develop, maintain, and improve emergency preparedness plans and communication protocols
- Evaluate and strengthen crisis management processes, identifying improvement opportunities
- Ensure COMAH compliance across all phases and propose mitigation measures
- Assess physical security risks and manage security threats for critical infrastructure
- Design and deliver emergency response training for employees, contractors, and clients
- Support senior leadership during live emergencies and lead incident investigations with root cause analysis
- Collaborate with emergency services, regulators, and stakeholders
Requirements
- Degree or professional qualification in continuity, disaster, emergency, or risk management
- Significant experience in high-hazard industrial environments (petrochemical, energy, oil and gas, hydrocarbon processing)
- Proven COMAH knowledge and hands-on experience delivering improvement plans
- Experience of Silver or Gold Command and incident management in high-hazard or petrochemical settings
- Crisis management experience in a large or matrix organisation
- Background in emergency planning or business continuity as primary function
- Experience leading emergency response and advising senior management during live incidents
- Strong investigation capability with root cause analysis and formal methodology
