Technology Lead (Remote - UK)

Location: Remote in the United Kingdom; listed location is London, United Kingdom

Salary: £90,000–£120,000 base pay per year, excluding bonuses, equity, benefits, and other incentives.

What you will do

• Own system design and implementation for complex, high-impact initiatives.
• Take end-to-end ownership of mission-critical services, improving reliability, scalability, and long-term sustainability.
• Build and evolve AWS-native systems using services such as Lambda, ECS, RDS, S3, SQS, API Gateway, and CloudWatch.
• Own application code, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD pipelines, including Terraform or similar tooling.
• Set standards for code quality, testing, observability, security, documentation, and DevSecOps practices.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Architecture teams while mentoring engineers and supporting hiring and onboarding.

Requirements

• Experience as a Technology Lead, Staff Engineer, or Senior Engineer owning complex production systems.
• Strong hands-on AWS experience and cloud-native architecture expertise.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language, such as Python, Java, or Node.js.
• Strong knowledge of system design, distributed systems, scalability, APIs, and data modeling.
• Experience with infrastructure as code, CI/CD, observability, automated testing, and Agile collaboration.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in ambiguous situations.
