Platform Engineer (Python / Cloud)

Location: London, United Kingdom (hybrid); candidates must be within reasonable travelling distance of London, with occasional travel to client and hirify.global offices.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable application platforms and deployment environments.
• Support and enhance Python-based web applications and services, including work with React and Vite.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines, automation, reusable platform patterns, self-service capabilities, and developer tooling.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and observability solutions to improve reliability and performance.
• Manage cloud infrastructure, containerised environments, and platform configurations.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, and delivery teams on security, architecture decisions, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Strong commercial experience developing and supporting Python web applications.
• Experience with Azure cloud services, cloud-native application deployment, Docker, and containerised applications.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of Linux systems administration, networking fundamentals, application security, and secure software delivery.
• Experience implementing monitoring, logging, and observability solutions.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently within multidisciplinary teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with FastAPI or similar Python frameworks.
• Exposure to AWS alongside Azure.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Bicep.
• Experience supporting data platforms, AI, or analytics workloads.
• Consulting, professional services, or client-facing experience.
