Planning Manager (Aerospace)

Location: Based in Salt Lake City, UT. U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card holder), or asylee/refugee status required due to ITAR compliance. Initial training requires weekly travel to Simi Valley, CA for first three months.

Salary: $98,432 - $139,650

What you will do

• Lead and manage the production planning team, developing and executing production schedules and plans.
• Collaborate with procurement, production, engineering, and quality assurance to optimize processes and meet goals.
• Monitor production data, manage inventory levels, and implement lean manufacturing principles.
• Coordinate with customer-facing teams to align plans with orders and delivery timelines.
• Provide reports to senior management on performance, utilization, and capacity planning.
• Mentor team members and ensure compliance with aerospace regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum 8 years relevant experience, including 3-5 years in aerospace/defense and 3 years in leadership.
• Proven experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Oracle), production planning, and complex processes in regulated environments.
• Strong understanding of military compliance, contract management, and cross-functional team leadership.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• U.S. person status per ITAR (Citizen, Permanent Resident, or protected individual).

Nice to have

• APICS CPIM or PMP Certification.
• Experience with SplashBI, multi-level BOMs, and system-generated build times.
