DevSecOps Engineer

TL;DR

DevSecOps Engineer (Kubernetes/IaC): Building and maintaining integrated DevSecOps environment enabling dynamic course delivery with an accent on secure CI/CD pipelines, on-premise system hardening, and container orchestration. Focus on designing secure workflows, integrating security scanning, and optimizing monitoring for reliability across environments.

Location: On-premise systems in Jessup, MD. Requires U.S. person status per ITAR and TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.

Salary: $162,000 - $200,000

What you will do

• Administer and harden on-premise systems including VMs, storage, and databases.
• Design, implement, and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines across development, test, and production.
• Manage Kubernetes clusters and container orchestration platforms like Docker Swarm.
• Integrate security scanning, compliance checks, and identity/access management into workflows.
• Continuously improve automation, monitoring, and observability toolchains.
• Support incident response, vulnerability management, and deployment validation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 5+ years software development experience.
• Experience with Ruby, Ruby on Rails, Python, C++, JavaScript/TypeScript.
• SQL/NoSQL databases (MySQL/MongoDB preferred).
• Agile methodologies, web UI with HTML/CSS/JavaScript.
• Working knowledge of Windows and Linux; Security+ or DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification.

Nice to have

• Experience with ESXi/vCenter, scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python, Go).
• STIG guidance, system hardening, Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket).
• Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
