Product Engineer (UAV)

TL;DR

Product Engineer (UAV): Sustains engineering support for UAV systems for military and commercial applications with an accent on design modifications of structural components, electro-mechanical assemblies, payloads, and ground equipment. Focus on prototype hardware development, design verification testing, configuration management, and resolving manufacturing and customer issues.

Location: Based in Salt Lake City, UT (West Valley City office). Initial 3-month training requires weekly travel from Salt Lake City, UT to Simi Valley, CA (provided). U.S. Citizenship required due to ITAR regulations.

Salary: $81,481 - $115,500

What you will do

• Provide sustains engineering support for UAV product lines, including design modifications and prototype development.
• Manage product configuration, change orders in Agile PLM, and obsolescence for components.
• Coordinate release of engineering documentation, manuals, BOMs, manufacturing procedures, and test equipment.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing drawings and BOMs using ASME Y14 standards.
• Support design reviews, proposal writing, production transitions, and supplier resolutions.
• Handle customer support for failure analysis, field bulletins, and technical issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent.
• 5-8 years related experience in engineering design and production support.
• Lean Six Sigma experience or Green Belt certification.
• Experience with CAD (Altium), PCB layout, schematics, ASME Y14 drawing standards.
• Strong knowledge of configuration management, engineering fundamentals, and production assembly documentation.
• Proficiency with office and productivity tools; ability to integrate across disciplines.

Nice to have

• Experience with unmanned air vehicles, RF, digital, communications electronics.
• Agile PLM, MIL-HDBK-61A, EIA-649-B standards.
• Competency in structural dynamics problems.
