What you will do

• Lead analysis and simulation to define propulsion system requirements and meet regulatory energy and performance targets.
• Quantify the effects of electrification and hybridization on vehicle energy consumption, performance, and drivability.
• Evaluate and define next-generation propulsion architectures (ICE, HEV, BEV) through analytical assessments.
• Collaborate with hardware design teams and performance engineers to establish balanced requirements.
• Manage a small team of global analysis engineers to ensure timely delivery of virtual analysis plans.
• Conduct trade studies to evaluate design alternatives and present results to program leadership.

Requirements

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• 2+ years of experience in propulsion engineering.
• Proficiency in MATLAB and Simulink.
• Experience with simulation tools such as AMEsim, GT Suite, or Unified Model (Verde).
• Strong knowledge of engines, transmissions, electric motors, power electronics, and battery technology.
• Location: Must be based in Warren, Michigan

Nice to have

• M.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in testing, development, or calibration related to energy consumption and performance.
• Knowledge of systems engineering methods and vehicle controls.
• Experience with applied optimization and design of experiments.
