Data Science Intern - Summer 2026 - Bedford, MA

TL;DR

Data Science Intern (AI/ML): Building next-generation Asset Performance Monitoring AI technology with an accent on machine learning algorithms, data mining, and cognitive computing. Focus on developing scalable data-driven models, investigating emerging technologies, and driving innovations in industrial software platforms.

Location: Hybrid in Bedford, MA (office 4 days/week, remote 1 day/week). Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; no sponsorship provided. Not eligible for temporary visas (E, F-1, H-1, etc.).

Salary: $40.00 - $50.00 hourly

What you will do

• Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and developers to build machine learning applications for manufacturing and process industries.
• Work with customers, product managers, and technical staff to develop technology strategies for Engineering Design and Simulation offerings.
• Investigate new technologies from industry and academia and integrate them into software applications.
• Provide thought leadership and represent at industry/academic meetings and conferences.

Requirements

• Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, Operations Research, or related; PhD candidates preferred
• 5+ years in data analysis and software development with Python, C++/C, or C#
• Strong expertise in engineering mathematics, statistics, and optimization
• Demonstrated experience with ML algorithms (regression, deep learning, reinforcement learning, time series, predictive modeling, data mining, cognitive computing)
• History of publishing ML research and deploying scalable data-driven models
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail

Nice to have

• Experience with LLM, generative AI, MLOps, Graph Knowledge, or cloud technologies
