Senior Software Developer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in the hirify.global Quebec City office, with attendance required two days per week. Flexibility in working hours may be required to collaborate across time zones. Occasional Tier 3 after-hours support may be required.

What you will do

• Design and architect complex software applications, platform services, components, and web services for geoscience data.
• Develop, test, document, refactor, publish, and support secure and scalable internal and external APIs.
• Develop and optimize data models for transactional and analytical workloads with high data volumes and concurrent usage.
• Plan and coordinate releases across teams, including quality, security, compliance, change management, and post-release reviews.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, observability tools, automated deployments, and automated testing.
• Lead small projects or sub-projects, manage risks and stakeholders, and provide technical guidance and mentorship.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
• 7+ years of experience in relevant software development positions.
• Experience building enterprise-scale data solutions and working with relational and NoSQL data stores.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and JSON.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Experience or familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, Kafka, Event Hub, API integrations, software security, and project management.

Nice to have

• Experience with advanced analytics, data science, business intelligence, or AI workflows for geoscience data.
• Experience influencing stakeholders and contributing to cross-functional technical decisions.
