What you will do
- Build and improve an autonomous coding loop covering task understanding, code generation, test execution, self-repair, and code review.
- Design the agent’s context layer, including semantic code indexing, retrieval, and knowledge bases.
- Use LLMs to automate repetitive engineering work and provide developer assistance.
- Build scalable Python services and APIs for internal developer tooling.
- Integrate the agent with GitHub, Jira, Slack, Buildkite, Confluence, and AWS through MCP and direct APIs.
- Measure agent quality with evaluations, benchmarks, and regression suites while partnering with platform and product teams.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience.
- Strong Python skills and hands-on experience with LLMs, including prompting, tool use, and agent orchestration.
- Experience using AI coding agents as the primary implementation method.
- Strong testing discipline and a solid understanding of CI/CD and developer workflows.
- Working knowledge of AWS, Terraform, and Helm.
- Ability to work autonomously and own an area end to end.
Nice to have
- Experience building internal tools or developer platforms.
- RAG and knowledge-base experience, including embeddings, vector databases, chunking strategies, and index maintenance.
- Model fine-tuning, post-training, and evaluation design experience.
- Experience with observability, incident workflows, Kubernetes, or container orchestration.
- Open-source contributions to developer tools or AI/ML projects.
