Salary: $175,000 - $190,000

What you will do

• Mentor and coach underwriters to strengthen technical expertise, judgment, and consistency in risk decisions.
• Develop and deliver comprehensive underwriting training programs in partnership with governance teams.
• Review referrals and provide decisions for large, complex, and jumbo cases within delegated authority.
• Execute underwriting strategy and governance standards, including policy changes and quality review activities.
• Support modernization efforts by helping the team adopt new tools, automation, and AI-enabled capabilities.
• Collaborate with Medical, Actuarial, Product, and Compliance partners to align standards.

Requirements

• 10+ years of life underwriting experience.
• Demonstrated underwriting signing authority of $20M.
• Must be based in the United States.
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related work experience.
• Deep technical expertise in life insurance products (Term, Whole Life, IUL, VUL).
• Proven experience in mentoring underwriters or serving in a technical leadership role.

Nice to have

• Master’s Degree or MBA.
• Professional designations such as ACS, ALU, FLMI, FALU, or CLU.
