Senior Software Quality Engineer (Cloud)

Location: Hybrid, with an expectation of working an average of 2 days per week from an HPE office

What you will do

• Design, automate, and execute system-level tests for scale, reliability, security, and performance.
• Contribute to and influence the test automation strategy, evaluating and integrating tools to improve efficiency and coverage.
• Collaborate with product, development, support, and platform engineering teams across the full software lifecycle.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to QA engineers and cross-functional partners.
• Participate in design reviews to improve testability and mitigate quality risks.

Requirements

• 5–8 years of hands-on QA experience, including test automation framework design and software testing methodology.
• Strong programming skills in Python, with experience using Pytest and Playwright.
• Experience with non-functional testing, including scale, reliability, performance, load, and security testing.
• Understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP; microservices; Docker; and Kubernetes.
• Experience with Linux and virtual machine environments, CI/CD, Git or GitLab, Jenkins, REST APIs, JSON, SQL or NoSQL, and storage, compute, and networking.
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as KVM and VMware, plus a BS/MS degree in Science or Engineering.

• Exposure to cloud-native testing challenges in private cloud environments.
• Knowledge of cloud architectures, distributed computing, DevOps, release management, and security-first development.
