Sales Engineering Co-Op

Location: On-site in Kitchener, Canada, at 151 Charles Street West inside the Communitech Innovation Center

Salary: CAD $20–$30 per hour, depending on education and relevant experience

What you will do

• Support solution design, pre-sales activities, and technical enablement for customer-facing initiatives.
• Write, test, and deploy software solutions using Java or Scala.
• Learn, orchestrate, and manage sales engineering labs and demo instances across cloud and on-premise environments.
• Participate in customer proposals, including demos, RFIs, RFPs, and proofs of concept.
• Build ROI models, automation scripts, and go-to-market assets that communicate technical and business value.
• Collaborate with sales engineering and cross-functional teams while continuously learning new tools and platforms.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong programming skills in Java, Scala, and Python, with knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software development principles.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including deploying, managing, and scaling applications.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes Pods, Services, Deployments, StatefulSets, ConfigMaps, and Secrets.
• Understanding of big data ingestion, processing, and storage technologies, plus strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team.

• Experience with distributed computing, big data technologies, and cloud platforms.
