TL;DR

Robotics State Estimation and Control Generalist (Robotics): Ensuring the successful integration, characterization, and stable operation of autonomous driving software across new vehicle platforms with an accent on control systems and state estimation. Focus on refining algorithms, performing on-vehicle debugging, and solving complex low-level robotics integration challenges during bring-up phases.

Location: Must be based in Sunnyvale, CA

What you will do

  • Refine, tune, and generalize controller, state-estimation (odometry, localization), and perception algorithms for various vehicle platforms.
  • Own the stability and performance of new vehicle platforms during critical ADP bring-up phases.
  • Perform hands-on on-vehicle debugging and integration work.
  • Collaborate with Application Engineering and Control teams to troubleshoot and resolve integration issues.
  • Provide on-the-ground technical support for key customer programs, involving domestic and international travel.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in robotics or automotive contexts with hands-on system characterization and identification.
  • Strong background in control system design, state estimation, and sensor fusion.
  • Proficiency in C++ and Python.
  • Must be based in Sunnyvale, CA.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally for vehicle support.

Nice to have

  • Experience with automotive Drive-by-Wire (DBW) systems.
  • Familiarity with mapping/navigation data and advanced odometry techniques.
  • Experience with data-driven development, including metrics and tooling.
  • Experience with advanced control techniques influenced by neural networks.
  • Experience building and maintaining data pipelines for robotics development.
