Location: Remote (Must be based in the US)
Salary: $142,000 - $210,000

What you will do
- Design and expand the platform backbone to scale for hundreds of thousands of global merchants.
- Build a new lifecycle-orchestrator service to consolidate merchant lifecycle orchestration.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver large-scale technical projects.
- Implement technical strategies for complex requirements and open-ended problems.
- Use agentic development tools like Claude Code to automate development processes.
- Enhance engineering standards, tooling, and organizational processes.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a backend software engineer.
- Must be based in the United States.
- Proficiency in backend technologies: Kotlin, Python, Java, AWS, gRPC, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
- Experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD), distributed systems, and event-driven architecture.
- Strong skills in API design (HTTP/RPC), data modeling, and state machines.
- Ability to create high-quality technical specifications, ADRs, and project plans.
Nice to have
- Experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as Sentry, Rollbar, Chronosphere, or Kibana.
- Experience with Snowflake.
