AI Security Engineer (AI)

TL;DR

AI Security Engineer (Cybersecurity): Implementing and monitoring security, governance, and trust controls for AI systems with an accent on observability engineering and behavioral monitoring. Focus on operationalizing the Agentic Trust Framework and ensuring the resilience of generative AI environments.

Location: Fully remote within the United States. Working hours are expected to align with East and Central Time Zones.

Salary: $230,000 – $280,000 per year + equity

What you will do

• Define and measure trustworthy vs. untrustworthy AI behavior in production.
• Establish telemetry, tracing, logging, and alerting standards for AI systems and agentic workflows.
• Validate guardrails, policy checks, and execution constraints for agentic systems.
• Detect and investigate suspicious or non-compliant AI behaviors and coordinate responses.
• Translate governance principles into technical and operational requirements for product and platform teams.
• Develop trust metrics (KPIs/KRIs) and dashboards to monitor AI security boundaries.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in security engineering, detection, observability, SRE, or ML platform engineering.
• Experience designing monitoring and telemetry strategies for distributed systems or cloud services.
• Familiarity with LLMs, RAG, inference pipelines, and agentic workflows.
• Strong knowledge of IAM, least privilege, data protection, and incident response.
• Must be based in the United States; no visa sponsorship available.
• Industry certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or GIAC Machine Learning Engineer (GMLE) are highly preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI observability tooling, tracing frameworks, or telemetry pipelines.
• Background in AI red teaming, prompt security, or model misuse detection.
• Familiarity with Microsoft security, compliance, and AI governance ecosystems.
• Experience working in highly regulated or audit-sensitive environments.
