What you will do

• Own the technical delivery of mission-critical, event-based payment systems handling millions of daily transactions.
• Establish modern standards for AI-enabled workflows, high-availability, and resilient deployments to ensure global reliability.
• Navigate from POC to production using architectural pragmatism, balancing rapid business value with long-term system health.
• Co-author technical roadmaps and drive engineering standards and cross-team prioritization.
• Mentor and coach engineers to foster a culture of continuous learning and organizational growth.
• Drive engineering velocity by developing shared frameworks and automated guardrails.

Requirements

• Must be located in Canada and able to work within EST/EDT hours.
• Extensive experience as a staff engineer with a proven track record of managing large-scale incidents and system failures.
• Deep proficiency in at least one relevant tech stack combined with a systems-level mindset for complex full-stack architectures.
• Hands-on experience with AI-assisted coding and deployment strategies to drive efficiency.
• Strong ability to simplify complex technical tradeoffs for stakeholders and peers.

Nice to have

• Previous experience in Fintech or high-scale tech environments.
