What you will do
- Own the technical delivery of mission-critical, event-based payment systems handling millions of daily transactions.
- Establish modern standards for AI-enabled workflows, high-availability, and resilient deployments to ensure global reliability.
- Navigate from POC to production using architectural pragmatism, balancing rapid business value with long-term system health.
- Co-author technical roadmaps and drive engineering standards and cross-team prioritization.
- Mentor and coach engineers to foster a culture of continuous learning and organizational growth.
- Drive engineering velocity by developing shared frameworks and automated guardrails.
Requirements
- Must be located in Canada and able to work within EST/EDT hours.
- Extensive experience as a staff engineer with a proven track record of managing large-scale incidents and system failures.
- Deep proficiency in at least one relevant tech stack combined with a systems-level mindset for complex full-stack architectures.
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted coding and deployment strategies to drive efficiency.
- Strong ability to simplify complex technical tradeoffs for stakeholders and peers.
Nice to have
- Previous experience in Fintech or high-scale tech environments.
- Deep intuition for data integrity and experience building automated, auditable reconciliation systems.
