TL;DR

Location: Hybrid (Cambridge, MA). Must be based in the US (no sponsorship provided).

Salary: $162,000–$226,000 per year

What you will do

  • Provide strategic leadership and expert oversight for human research compliance and research integrity programs.
  • Develop institutional policies for research data management, specifically governing PHI and PII.
  • Identify and address ethical and regulatory issues posed by Artificial Intelligence (AI) in human research.
  • Direct the Office of Research Subject Protection (ORSP), supervising staff and managing operational workflows.
  • Oversee IRB compliance monitoring, conduct audits, and lead AAHRPP reaccreditation efforts.
  • Educate the research community on ethics, data stewardship, and regulatory updates.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Ethics, Law, Science, or Research Administration (PhD, JD, or MD strongly preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in research compliance, IRB operations, and data privacy.
  • Must be authorized to work in the US (sponsorship will not be provided).
  • Ability to translate complex federal, state, and local regulations into actionable institutional policy.
  • Certification as a Certified IRB Professional (CIP) or Certified in Healthcare Research Compliance (CHRC) is preferred.
