Process Engineer (Automotive)

TL;DR

Process Engineer (Automotive): Receive input on prototype axle and driveshaft assemblies requirements and manage procurement and assembly processes with an accent on supplier coordination, quality data, and tooling procurement. Focus on interpreting blueprints and specifications, utilizing MRP system for purchase requisitions and work orders, and supporting department improvements.

Location: Napoleon, OH, US (onsite brownfield plant start-up). Must meet physical requirements and have valid driver’s license.

What you will do

• Manage procurement and assembly of prototype axle and driveshaft components for timely delivery.
• Procure parts from suppliers across commodities and communicate quality expectations with hirify.global Quality Engineers.
• Serve as liaison between Samples Department and other departments.
• Identify and procure assembly tooling for builds.
• Use MRP system for purchase requisitions, BOM creation, and work orders.
• Interpret blueprints, specifications, and support 5S, DOS objectives, and improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiar with component/assembly drawings, engineering specifications, and GD&T.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; basic MRP knowledge beneficial.
• Basic drivelines knowledge preferred; willing to work extra time.
• Must have valid driver’s license and meet physical requirements.
