Staff Attorney (Privacy)

TL;DR

Staff Attorney (Privacy/Cybersecurity): Support privacy program for financial services and insurance with an accent on compliance, incident response, policy governance, and regulatory change management. Focus on collaborating with cross-functional teams to embed privacy requirements into processes, projects, and vendor management while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws.

Location: Fort Worth, TX, United States (Hybrid, 2 days a week in office). We are unable to consider candidates who require visa sponsorship.

What you will do

• Support compliance with federal, state, and local privacy and cybersecurity laws and regulations.
• Assist in research, drafting, and approval of policies, procedures, and legal documents.
• Collaborate with Cybersecurity, Compliance, IT, Procurement, and business teams on privacy risk management.
• Support development and maintenance of the company’s privacy program and customer privacy notices.
• Manage regulatory changes and implementation of new privacy laws.
• Assist senior attorneys with outside counsel and legal opinions.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice law in at least one US state or ability to obtain within first year.
• 0-2 years of legal experience preferred.
• Foundational knowledge of privacy, cybersecurity, and US consumer finance/insurance laws.
• Understanding of legal research tools (Lexis, Word, Excel) and IT basics.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Basic familiarity with auto finance and property/casualty insurance concepts.
