What you will do

• Manage legal risks in product development, specifically regarding privacy, regulatory, and intellectual property.
• Scale and operationalize the product and privacy legal functions to support company growth.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Security teams to future-proof strategic initiatives involving customer data and responsible AI.
• Act as the subject matter expert on US and global privacy laws, including GDPR and CCPA.
• Draft and negotiate commercial agreements and data protection agreements.
• Ensure privacy is embedded into products and processes by design.

Requirements

• 9+ years of legal experience focusing on emerging technologies and privacy/data protection.
• Expertise in US and global privacy regulations.
• JD and active membership in a state bar in good standing.
• Proven experience advising on the legal and regulatory aspects of product development in tech.
• Ability to translate complex legal advice into actionable guidance for technical teams.
• Authorized to work in the US and hold a US state bar license

Nice to have

• Experience developing a comprehensive privacy program.
• Familiarity with the technical aspects of AI systems, including Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Understanding of the legal and ethical implications of AI.
