Marine Ops Technician

TL;DR

Marine Ops Technician (USV): Support performance, safety, and reliability of marine equipment across Unmanned Surface Vehicle operations with an accent on preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of engines, electrical, fuel, and cooling systems. What you will do

• Perform preventative maintenance, annual/100-hour services, tune-ups, safety inspections, and pre-trip checks on marine systems and electrical components.
• Conduct engine diagnostics, troubleshooting, fuel system cleaning/repairs, cooling system services, electrical repairs, powerhead rebuilds, and lower unit reseals.
• Handle rigging and motor installations including new outboards, re-rigging, steering systems, controls, gauges, and performance rigging.
• Perform fiberglass and hull services such as crack repairs, structural fixes, refinishing, polishing, and cosmetic damage repairs.
• Work closely with technical and operations teams to keep equipment healthy, avoid breakdowns, and support safe on-water operations.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a service technician or mechanic in marine industry or related fields
• Proficiency in hand tools and power tools
• Experience with rigging operations and fabricating custom parts
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics for troubleshooting and repairs
• Physical capacity for heavy lifting, working in demanding environments and weather conditions
• Must handle small boats (25’-30’), loading/towing/launching, basic seamanship skills
• US Citizenship or Permanent Residency (ITAR/EAR); background check required

• Walk, stand, navigate facilities for extended periods; lift up to 25 lbs
• Use PPE; climb ladders, stoop, kneel; exposure to noise, dust, temperature fluctuations
• Occasional off-hours/weekend work; frequent computer use for documentation
