Senior Mechanical Engineer (Renewable Energy)

What you will do

• Lead mechanical design of renewable-energy power electronics products from concept through mass production.
• Create 3D models and 2D drawings in SolidWorks using GD&T and tolerance analysis.
• Perform thermal and structural FEA simulations to validate reliability under environmental stress.
• Design components and enclosures for plastic injection molding, sheet metal, die casting, and other high-volume processes.
• Integrate thermal-management solutions such as heatsinks, airflow, and phase-change materials.
• Coordinate design reviews, FMEA, prototype builds, testing, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 8+ years of mechanical design experience, preferably with renewable energy, power electronics, or energy-storage products.
• Strong CAD modeling, technical drawing, GD&T, and tolerance-analysis skills.
• Experience with structural and thermal FEA tools such as ANSYS.
• Hands-on experience designing plastic, metal, and composite components for manufacturing, including DFM/DFA principles.
• Experience working with suppliers and contract manufacturers, with strong cross-functional communication and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with outdoor, high-voltage, or grid-connected equipment enclosures.
• Knowledge of thermal management for solar, wind, or energy-storage power electronics.
• Familiarity with IP65/IP67, UL 1741, IEC 62109, and other environmental compliance standards.
• Experience with reliability, accelerated-life, salt-fog, vibration, or thermal-cycling tests.
• Experience with high-volume manufacturing and global supplier collaboration.
