TL;DR

Environmental Scientist/Geologist (Contamination & Due Diligence): Conducting Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments for energy infrastructure, transportation, and redevelopment projects with an accent on soil, groundwater, and soil vapor regulatory compliance. Focus on field investigations, construction monitoring, technical reporting, and developing Response Action Plans and Construction Contingency Plans.

Location: Ideal candidate located in the Twin Cities, Minnesota area; hybrid work may be considered; primarily field-based (50-70% time in field). Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (E-Verify).

Salary: $79,400–$119,500 per year

What you will do

  • Conduct field tasks including soil/groundwater sampling, field screening, and environmental monitoring using PID and 4-gas meters.
  • Manage/support Phase I and II ESAs for transportation, redevelopment, and energy projects.
  • Author technical reports such as Phase I/II ESAs, RAPs, CCPs, and construction monitoring reports.
  • Perform construction monitoring, impacted media management, and GPS data collection.
  • Support desktop contamination research and development of Health and Safety Plans.
  • Collaborate in teams to deliver projects on scope, budget, and schedule.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Geology, Environmental Science, Earth Science, Environmental Chemistry, or related field
  • 3+ years professional environmental experience; applicable due diligence experience in Minnesota
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification required
  • ASTM E1527 Phase I ESA certification required
  • Experience with environmental reports, RAPs, CCPs, Phase I/II ESAs
  • Skilled in field equipment operation, soil/groundwater sampling, GPS, field reporting
  • Ability to read geological maps/databases; strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Willing to conduct field work 50-70% as needed
