TL;DR

Senior Data Engineer: Develop and monitor robust data pipelines using Python, SQL, and Rundeck/Airflow that handle large-scale data volumes with an accent on scalability, reliability, and performance optimization. Focus on designing performant data models, optimizing complex SQL queries, building automated checks and alerts, automating tasks, and creating self-service tools for business-critical reporting and analytics.

Hybrid: Required to work from Cambridge or Concord, MA office 3 days per week.

What you will do

• Architect scalable data pipelines using Python, SQL, and Rundeck/Airflow for high-volume data.
• Design performant data models and optimize complex SQL queries.
• Build automated checks and alerts to ensure data reliability for financial and operational reports.
• Automate repetitive tasks and develop self-service tools to increase data accessibility.
• Leverage AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate development and improve code quality.
• Collaborate across teams to translate business needs into maintainable technical solutions.

Requirements

• 5+ years in data engineering or analytics engineering in data-centric environments.
• Experience owning end-to-end data pipelines (ingest, transform, test, monitor).
• Strong SQL skills and familiarity with distributed/columnar/OLAP systems (Redshift, Trino, Vertica) and relational databases (MySQL, Postgres).
• Proficiency in Python with a software-engineering approach to testable, maintainable code.
• Experience with workflow orchestration (Airflow) and containerization (Docker).
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong written and spoken English to communicate across teams.

• Stream processing or real-time systems (Kafka, Flink).
• Modern BI tooling (Looker, Superset).
