TL;DR
Mental Health Educator: Develop and implement campus-wide programming to promote mental health and wellbeing for students with an accent on mental health literacy, stress management, and community connection. Focus on designing tailored outreach workshops, online resources, and training for diverse student populations including Indigenous, international, graduate, racialized students, students with disabilities, and 2SLGBTQIA+ students.

$6,747.50 - $9,701.42 CAD Monthly

What you will do
- Develop and deliver mental health literacy programs, workshops, orientations, and online resources to normalize stress and promote wellbeing.
- Assess community needs, analyze mental health data, and create tailored promotion programs for diverse student groups.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff, and student groups to design outreach like Academic Essentials and Mental Health Basics.
- Provide presentations and training for faculty/staff on supporting student mental health and referrals.
- Monitor, evaluate programs, prepare reports, and align with institutional priorities and national standards.
- Manage administrative tasks, supervise student staff/volunteers, and apply for grants.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in relevant discipline and 3-4 years of related experience or equivalent.
- Experience in public health, counselling, social work, education, or nursing.
- Proficiency with MS Office, Qualtrics, Canvas LMS, and survey tools.
- Commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and serving diverse student populations.
- Knowledge of student development theory, health equity, and university student issues like stress, anxiety, depression.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Nice to have
- Master's degree in psychology, social work, public health, nursing, or education.
- 5+ years experience in relevant roles.
- Experience developing, monitoring, and evaluating health promotion programs.
- University/college experience in Student Affairs.
- Supervisory experience and community engagement skills.
- Knowledge of collaborative leadership and collective impact frameworks.
